Jens Risom Prefab House Explanation
Jens risom prefab house – Jens Risom (born May 8, 1916), a Danish-American furniture designer. A reference in modern design of the mid-20th century, Risom was one of the first designers to introduce Scandinavian design in the United States. Risom was a designer who wanted to take responsibility for the whole project – from the idea to its implementation. He added that his father, who was a well-known architect, had a huge impact on his activities.
He used to say that “Architecture is the most beautiful of all arts.” He explained, however, that when he looked at his father’s work, he noticed a huge problem. “The architect did not fully carry out his project to the end. This prefabricated summer Jens Risom house, built in the shape of the letter a, dates from the 1960s and is located in the northern part of the island of Block. It is surrounded by a low, stone wall, which is a frequent feature of the local landscape.
In the living space Jens Risom Architecture, where there is also a dining room, Risoma-type vintage furniture mixes with new elements, under the glass wall. The relatively new wood-burning stove is next to the designer’s rocking chair called “Risom Rocker” from the “Design Within Reach” collection. The original table in the dining room and chairs stand next to an extremely simple kitchen, which after many years still looks like when it was installed. On the shelves there are the most needed things, no unnecessary additives.
